Today was the day that I finally got to try Pizza Pie-er, which I viewed in my mind as a healthy pizza joint. I do have to say that the healthy fare of whole wheat/multigrain crusts does taste good, and actually have a great texture/consistency. The red sauce was a little disappointed as I hoped it would have a little more spice to it, but the Meatichoke pizza I had overpowered the tomato flavor of the sauce. It was when I had a slice of plain that I realized the sauce didn't have much to it.
However, this is not such a bad thing because it'll only encourage you to try all the other sauces they do have, and this is really the other attribute that differentiates Pizza Pie-er from the crowd. The combination of 4 crusts and 8 sauces certainly makes for some interesting concoctions with flavors you may not normally get. Overall, I'd definitely recommend creating your own and trying it to see if you want to explore a new combination the 2nd time.

I've eaten pizza from Pizza Pie-Er twice. I was impressed with the simple pepperoni the first time; the variety of crusts was unique and pretty tasty. The second time we had some delivered to work, and I wasn't as impressed. We got the tomato/cheese and the artichoke/ground meat pizzas. They were a bit cold, too much sauce, and the crusts were a bit thick.
Overall I think this is the kind of place that you have to know what to order, but if you do you'll get good food.
